With the top of this piece, I set about showing a journey through a tree.

It is made from three-millimetre thick, workshop-sawn veneers in 16 consecutive cuts through a tree. These are laid out in a radiating pattern demonstrating the timber's beauty, whilst at the same time showing the way in which it grows.

When displayed at 'Origin', the London Craft Show, it prompted the comment that 'this table is a credit to the tree'.
