Some would say it’s a vanity for a designer to have their own workshop, but with us it is the core of our approach. We are designers and makers and we are very proud of the synergy generated by being involved with both. We have apprenticed makers since 1985 and all of them like any serious professional, undergo a six year training during which they are steeped in our default position of designing and making for posterity. They emerge as sensitive, knowledgeable and thoroughly excellent makers with a keen eye for form and function. They will use tools from the biblical to the digital and will chew the timber with their teeth, if necessary, to create the object out of the idea.
We have also forged worthwhile relationships with a broad range of like-minded artisans working in glass, metal, textiles, lettering, leather and light with whom we work collaboratively when the job requires.
