The Devon Guild of Craftsmen, the National Trust and Dartington Hall Trust are working in partnership to stage an exhibition of objects which will respond to and adorn the rooms of High Cross House on the Dartington Estate in South Devon. Central to this partnership are the continued connections Devon Guild of Craftsmen has with Dartington Hall since the famous 1952 International Conference of Craftsmen in Pottery and Textiles which was a catalyst in the establishment of the Guild. Early Members of the Guild and conference delegates included David Leach, Susan Bosence and Marianne de Trey. To celebrate this enduring connection and to pay tribute to a life dedicated to creativity the exhibition will include a specially selected group of work by Marianne de Trey to celebrate her 100th year. High Cross House is one of Britain’s most celebrated and architecturally significant Modern residences, commissioned by Leonard Elmhirst and designed by William Lescaze in 1932.
